Who Am I?

“Being male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age, but being a gentleman/king is a matter of choice.” ~Unknown

One thing that I have discovered is that being born a male does not guarantee that you will grow up to be a gentleman/king. Even as we see in today’s culture and society, there are not many positive depictions that show males in a gentleman or kingly way.

In order to become a gentleman or a king, we must understand that it is a process that has to take place. This process has to first start with the parents. Most parents spend lots of time teaching their kids the importance of manners, academics and other extracurricular activities, but never is there much talk about kingship and gentlemen behaviors. It is hard to become what you are not familiar with. In other words, if you have not seen gentlemen as role models or seen men treating women like queens, it is virtually impossible to become that.

Step One– Discovering You. In order to discover who you are, you must first identify who you are not. You are not who society says you are. You are not what the naysayers and bullies have been saying about you. You are not a follower, you are a leader. You are who God says you are. In case you didn’t know, God says you are a KING! You are not a copy, you are an original. The one thing you MUST do is spend time around some role models who can help pull the KING out of you. If you don’t know who you are, someone else will push who they want you to be on you. If you don’t know who you are you will always be a follower and not a leader. If you don’t know who you are you will live a life that you don’t like. It’s time for you to be intentional about discovering the REAL YOU and put on the CROWN that GOD has designed for your life.
